introduction

Hi

I'm new here and on the new side of being an adult webmaster as well - been browsing the boards and gleaning a lot of good info so far.

I have been doing TGP galleries for the last 3 months and feel like I am sort of getting the hang of it and building reasonable traffic and some sales. I have an advantage and disadvantage in the fact that in a past life I did web design development and consutling.

I was curious though about the fact I have seen several postings stating that doing galleries is a bad thing for newbies, but noone ever seems to give a concise (or any?) answer on this.

Anyways - greetings all - hope to learn a lot and perhaps be able to offer something to the discussions here.

Welcome to the board outthere

TGP's - IMHO - get a bad rap as a whole because of the amount of traffic that the big ones (al4a, the hun, etc) send & the bad experiences that unprepared webmasters have had because of the amount of traffic that they were sent (servers going down, little or no sales, etc)

But, not every TGP is the same - if you're building galleries & getting listed & makeing sales, then keep doing it

Hiya outthere,

Welcome aboard.

I personally think there are better options for newbies than following the TGP line... It puts some bad practices
(IMO) in their minds early, and trying to undo that shit is hard.

thanks for the input - luckily I had good people guiding me through the beginning stages of this, other wise yes I would have been caught completley unprepared in terms of traffic especially on the days i get listed with The Hun.

DangerDave - what bad practices are you reffering to? As I am planning to branch out into other types of sites in the near future, comments of that nature cause me concern. I try to research and prepare for each move as much as I can, but there is always something that will be missed until the critical moment it is too late...

thanks

outthere,

That statement was not meant to be directed at anyone specifially nor meant to cause offence.

What I am talking about is mass-submitting and the acceptance of circle-jerk TGPs as normal practice. They call it traffic trading, I call it BS!

On the LL/Free site side of things we usually dont use traffic trading/skimming scripts, and any submission should be thought out and planned and assessed not just blindly submitted to 600 lists, and then forgotten.

I have TGP'ers that attempt to submit to me everyday, when they have been blacklisted for over 12 months..

Hi Danger Dave - i didn't take any offense, I just wanted to make sure that I would not be applying bad habits when I move into other areas - that was my concern.

I don't do mass or auto-submits and can't stand the CJ method of trading traffic either.

I appreciate you clarification
