Sleepy Wednesday 20th April (AKA - Anniversaries of: No idea because my sources of historical data still think it is the 19th, so are telling me what happened yesterday. That is the problem with posting this early.)

On weekdays I usually leave home too early to start a thread of the day, and am back too late. However no one has started one in a few days so I thought I'd better get you all up early today!

Unfortunately, it still being morning here, I have so far done nothing today except read my emails and a bit of work, so have nothing to tell you about my day. (If this were Facebook I suppose I could have posted a photo of my breakfast, but it isn't, so I can't.)

Instead I'll give you my news of a few days ago (we have not had a thread of the day since Saturday, so I can claim it is still valid).

Monday my sister had booked a tour of Wilton's (Britain's, and probably the world's, oldest surviving music hall) with dinner in the bar afterwards. She had booked by email, and had a hell of a job booking a table. First off they refused because they said they only book tables for parties of ten or more. When she said that was silly they said it was "fire regulations". When she pointed out that this was obviously a lie, they still refused. The two of them argued backwards and forwards via email for over a week. Eventually the hall's management agreed to her booking a table for two, provided we ate in the bar rather than the dining room. My sister agreed and the booking was made for Monday.

We turned up for the tour, picked up our tickets and my sister went to check on the table booking for dinner. They checked it. Then they told us, they don't serve food on a Monday!!!!!

To make matters worse, the area the music hall was built in has, since it's construction, been taken over by the financial district. Bankers go home when the stock market closes, so all the eateries are lunch time only, the area is a ghost town after about six pm. We walked for over an hour before we found somewhere open.

My sister was not amused when, just before this, we passed a train station and I suggested we slipped in and had dinner at Dunkin' Donuts!

(I have no good reason for using the pig, but no one ever does, and I like pigs.)

Pigs are cute. Some people have them as pets here and one girl walks hers on a lease at the local pub some days.

Just another day of work here. I seemed to have pulled a back muscle at the gym yesterday so going to be using a heating pad whilst working today.

It's 4/20 today

Yup. And the husky loves them, not in a "yummy" way, but in a "can we have some pigs as company" way.

I take him to the farm sometimes, and he spends ages looking at the pigs. (Although, top be fair, in the spring he usually wants to adopt a few lambs as puppies too!)

As Churchill said "Dogs look up to you, cats look down on you, but pigs treat you as equals!"
