I use the Russian SubmitterRussian Submitter I'm mostly happy with it. It takes very little setup to get it up and running. Being a Mac user I have to run it in emulation, but it's not really a big deal.

Thanks I've checked out their site and it looks pretty good but am a little apprehensive putting out 25 a month for a service that i'm not to sure of...

how many tgp's do you submit to and what kind of traffic are you getting out of it?

It only takes one sale for the whole month to get back your $25, lol.

It does about 600 TGPs per submit. They have the older service, RS1, which is simpler then RS2 and RS2 which has more features, but is more work to set up. I believe you get access to both so it's your choice which to use. I'm using RS2 these days so I'll talk about that one.

Basically using your browser you upload your html template which is just a no recip gallery that you make and it gives you back a zip archive that contains all your pages with the recips in place. You also have to download the recip zip file that contains all the images for the recips..

After you upload everything to your server you then run the client software on your PC. There are 3 pieces of software.

1) The Auto Submitter, this does most of the submits.

2) The Human Emulator, this loads each submit page in a frame with all the fields pre-filled. This is for the places that do not allow auto submits and use a passphase field that you have to read and fill out. There are less then 20 of these to do on average.

3) Then there is the Auto Confirmer for the e-mails. It catches about 90% of the e-mails and then you run your regular e-mail program to catch the rest.

The traffic is the same as if you had submitted to 600 TGPs by hand. If the big sites pick up your gallery you can get 100k+ in one day. If only the little TGPs pick up your gallery then you are going to only get 3k or so of traffic.

The things I like a lot about the RS is how easy it is to set up and the fact that it hits a ton of the very small TGPs that I would never take the time to hand submit to because they each send very little traffic, but when combined it ads up and often it is better converting traffic.

On the places that do not take a submit each day it will store your submit and only submit the amount that you are allowed under the TGP's rules.

What you are really paying for is the support from Wad & Popeye who keep the database up to date and keep on releasing new versions of the software.

Like I said it's not perfect, but it makes me money. I do about 4 galleries a week using it.

I run a TGP myself and 90% of the submits I get are from the RS and am happy with it from that end as well.

Thanks Cleo,

also do you put those tgp pages on a free server or on your server ( I have a very good bandwidth deal and am not worried about it but what do you suggest?)

Thumbs up

I use TGSW and pair it with TGSWUpdates and it keeps things running nicely.

I like it for a dedicated I have running on FreeBSD, as it's a server side app (The one I use is) and I can set it up to run on it's own for months with just changing templates on a daily basis when I'm not too lazy.

It takes a bit more set up then the others, but TGSWUpdates simplifies that quite a bit.

I always pay for my hosting. BW is too cheap these days to be giving away your traffic to a free server. Also using a free server will hurt your listings.

mpahica,

I think you can get some valuable info by looking here http://www.choponthelake.com/chopstest.htm Check out item 1 on the conclusion section on this page and don't miss page 2 at http://www.choponthelake.com/tgplist2.htm

I tried them all and settled on TGP Assistant. With it you have complete control over submitting - interactive or Turbo. It is more than a submitter. It contains most all the tools need for TGPing - batch renamer, image resizer, thuumbnail creator, mirrorer, FTP.

While it is user friendly, TGP Assistant does so much it is a little complex. I am writing some tutorials that should help.

The demo database that comes with the download sucks. I have joined with RLW Publishing and have create what I believe to be the most comprehensive TGP database on the web. All of the 1600+ links work and are tested regularly. I tried Russian Submitter. The advertise about a 1000 links but only about 600 will work. Several links are not even TGP's.

At $9.95 per month, TGP Assistant is a steal.

Feel free to email me if I can help you in your quest.

Chop

Damn! all of this and I am not sure if Assistant will work on a Mac. I'll get it checked out and get back to you.

mpahica,

Just got an answer back from Rob over at RLW Publishing - "Windows only. It may run on a Mac using a Windows emulator." I sure hate that because you are missing out on a great tool.

Unhappy

I signed up and paid for TGP Wizard yesterday - got my first gallery ready and now there is a huge backlog of submissions that just don't seem to be moving.

I am not impressed.

Pretty much a newbie in the grand scale of things, but when it comes to TGP ... I know it backwards.

I use chameleon submitter personally, but thats because I don't have time to submit. Advanced submitter is the only solution. Tried Russian submitter, tried TGSW, tried TGA, tried a couple of others, but Advanced submitter is the only one. Warning .. you need to manage your own database.

We have been using Russian Submitter for some time now and we have been pretty pleased with its performance. Maybe it goes without saying, but you definitely have to maintain a good list of the best TGPs to hand submit to. Russian is nice and all hits add up, but for the big ones ya have to take the time to do it by hand

I use Russian + GASS. In my opinion GASS is the best $45 I have spent for what it has recouped in both traffic & $$.

Only trouble is that my GASS database now has about 170 TGP's and takes a while to do, even when used in conjunction with Roboform.

I use Russian Submitter, and have used it for over 1 year now....its a nice tool for submitting to the small to mid sized TGP's.
For submitting to the biggies, by hand is the far best way

I've submitted in the midst of some big backlogs as well, it doesn't usually take too long to get them all pushed through. They have an option to download a client version of their submitter so that you can run it from your computer or hosting and bypass all of the backlog, which also helps because you're not going through a proxy and posting as the same IP address as everyone else.
