LL owners - more content better?

This is an age old question for me - but I've never had a forum truly frequented by LL owners to ask it on.

Is more content better, in terms of value to your list, and getting listed, when it comes to a freesite?

By that I mean, 20-30 pics is a common standard. I know there are few lists out there that WON'T list your site if you have more than X number of pics.

I've always had an interest in putting together larger sites, of, say, 100 pics, where various looks in a particular niche are covered. EG, amateur niche, have galleries for (legal) teen amateurs, mature amateurs, busty amateurs, etc.

How does content amount weigh on value to a list? Good, bad, indifferent?

Nope, 100 is bad. You want to tease, not please. 20-30, maybe 50 at a big max... you start getting into mega free sites, it is likely that the surfer finds enough to spank to and never does get the credit card out. Better to have 20-30 pictures and an EXCELLENT upsell pitch at the end of picture 30.

Keep them moving forward, not around.

:-)

Alex

PS: Say hi to Mona for me :-)

Why use 100 pcis on 1 site when you can use that same 100 pics & make 5 sites, especially to different niches

Point taken.

I've always wanted to make some kind of a 'portal' site, though. Something that's not just a tgp or a link list, but a mixture of the two, with updated content, that pulls regular traffic. Never quite been able to figure it out as of yet. Our linklist does okay - though it now needs a major overhaul due to two months of submitter BS.

Down with 'Drunken-Moms-getting-banged-by-their-son's-friends-who-look-fourteen' sites, dammit!

I'm just about ready to go to user/pass to submit...

I'd much rather see quality rather than quantity. I can't believe how many submissions we get each day with old crap from the 80's and 90's - dark, fuzzy pictures. Who would buy a membership to a site being promoted that way? If you want to make sales from your efforts, you need to spring for some fresh content once in a while. I reject a lot of sites each day just because I'm tired of seeing the same old images and I don't want to inflict them on our visitors yet another time.

codymc12 I hear ya, all those mother and son sites are sick...90% of the submits comes from Eastern-Europeans so if I ran a LL \ TGP or something I would just basicly block all submits from eastern-european ip's...its just to much bullshit, sad for the honest webmasters but really...its a 80/20% split there between serious webmasters/cheaters there
