Bought a paint sprayer

Those can work pretty well. You have to keep them clean, I've seen a lot of hours spent trying to fix airless sprayers that were put away before they were really clean.

Keeping them clean means having a spot where you can blow out a couple of gallons of warm water, where it won't make too much of a mess. A junky spot outdoors is better than indoors, you might have to scrub the nossle while firing it and that'll spray everywhere.
