Yeah, those little toyotas are miracles of engineering. The Corolla I had before this one I drove for 315 thousand miles, and only retired it because I couldn't maintain the body anymore. The engine still started with one touch of the key in the coldest weather.
The wife was given a ford escort by her parents- damn thing caught on fire and burned to junk. I went out and got this current toyota, and it's been a champion. I have a lot of affection for it. I think my attitude towards show and muscle cars comes from too much exposure to them in a strange way- a good old friend of mine owns a strip club here, and the strippers and their boyfriends are always showing off their cars. The fast and furious look is popular there. You see lots of semi-lame fellows trying to use cars as bargaining chips to pick up strippers, that kind of thing. One gets jaded... |
