I have sold some domains over the last year or so, and the value of a domain really is in what people would pay for it.

I have let two word adult domains expire because they were worthless - not enough searches, not enough type ins, and not enough demand for those words. I have had people pay me insanely high amounts of money for three word domains because they wanted those three words.

I have a 4 letter domain (fook.com) that has been on the block for a while. It's a tough sell (it is a common symbol for luck in chinese). I have a number of offers on it, but nothing approaching it's true value.

Someone not long ago offered me 1k for a domain getting exactly 50 type ins per month. He wanted to those type ins. He owns the domain.

Value is... whatever it is.

Alex
