You can certainly make a living from Free Sites.
They last a hell of a long time, if not forever, and will continue to get hits for years to come. But yes, they should be incorporated into a larger network of sites. The snowball effect does work but you can't just sit back and wait for it to happen. Keep working, keep building, and watch the magic begin!
