Supreme Court Sets Back ‘Patent Trolls'

The Supreme Court unanimously rejected the rule developed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit that automatically granted injunctions against patent infringers unless there were exceptional circumstances.

“The patent trolls have lost a big bargaining chip,” Potenza says. As a result, large companies and their customers will have far less to fear.
