DMOZ extortion story - interesting.

I got my link list in the variety page a couple monthes back. It took a little work.

I was told by the editors that because so many shitty sites were submitted, they didnt even want to go in to check and have to wade through the submits.

They seem to be pretty picky too, they wanted me to change avs to AVS because it's proper english.

I have heard stories of people emailing submitters and telling them it would be 200 bucks to be accepted or else they would decline. DMOZ actually takes it serious and if you send them the email and info, others have been kicked out and banned from editing.

Now i'm just waiting for the dmoz to google transfer of new directory info which apparantly never happens.
