Ardengent.... how are you finding Elements? have you tried to open a normal photoshop .psd file with it? maybe show us something you have made.. not to critique it... just to see what you can manage in a few days with no prior knowledge.... Most people that try and teach themselves PS give up well before being able to do much of anything useful... thats the biggest drawback it has imho.

What's the most anyone has paid for photoshop? It's a ridiculous price in the local stores anytime I have seen it.

Someone who has done this might know a more exact $$ figure... but if I had paid retail price for version 2 or 3 and followed the upgrade path all the way to the new CS version I would have had to have spent about $2500+ bucks on the program I think...

I bought a second hand copy of v7 from a friend for us$75 recently and I won a copy of V4 a few years ago.. So, for my personal copy, I will have only spent about $300 over the years by the time I buy the CS upgrade.. but that is still quite a bit more than just about any of the other pieces of software I use daily.. not saying PS isnt worth the price.... just that it is so much more expensive than the average adult webmaster tool.. for it to sell at such a high price and still have so many people using it, surely photoshop must be one product that has actually benefitted from widespread piracy.

Although I am sure Adobe would argue the prices would be cheaper with no piracy... I think the software simply wouldnt be worth as much without the massive user base, which I think is a direct result of all the pirating of it.. if there wasn't 1000s of PS help sites and add-ons out there can anyone imagine how few of us that aren't full time designers would be using it too...

Anyway... long story for a short question... over your adult webmaster career how much have you spent on PhotoShop?
