John, you need to tone things down a bit I think. Not everyone here "flaming" you are "small minded yank kids".

Some people may honestly think your idea is not worth it. That handing out free clips to someone for the hope of traffic is not worth it.

Now...almost ALL sponsors offer sample videos on their tour and surfers download them ALL the time. So what's the difference if you as a sponsor just give a few to some guy with an idea that might drive traffic to you? Seriously?

I think the idea is fine if you want to brand your site more to all the surfers out there. Plus offereing a sample video or two is NO different than offering hosted video gallereis. Wake up, surfers "steal" those all the time.
