If your host is running WHM/CPanel try to edit the file
/home/yourusername/tmp/awstats/awstats.yourdomain.com.conf find the line AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=0 and set it to AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=1 then you should see that update button in awstats
