I think when people decide to become teachers they are doing it because they believe they can do great things for our next gen.

My experience is about 50/50. Thinking about all the public school teachers that i've known in my adult life, I can say that 4 wanted to help and 3 wanted summers off.

The 2 that I know that went straight to university did it because they couldn't think of any other job that required less of them.
