Just things I wish I knew back in 2001.

Slow and steady often wins the race.

Case 1:

1,000 hits * 3 days = 3,000
100 hits * 4 days = 400
15 hits * 7 days = 105
2 hits * 351 days = 702

Total hits = 4,207 hits first year

Case 2:

50 hits * 365 days = 18,250 hits first year

Which would you rather have in general?

Lesson: Don't neglect sources that send constant and steady hits, even if they do not give you as much of a initial boost as other traffic sources.
