Pinging On Blogs installed on subfolders

Just had a quick question regarding pinging on blogs created in subfolders. I have a blog network going, but I wanted to try b2evolution and use one domain as a weird micro-niche type fetishes, etc, type stuff. Instead of getting multiple domains for it I was going to do:

onedomain.com - main page

onedomain.com/fetishblog1
onedomain.com/fetishblog2
onedomain.com/fetishblog3

etc.

Would I run into any issues having those fetish blogs pinged everyday with posts or should I just ping the mainpage and let a sitemap / spiders take care of it?
