Post Subject, Alt for images and Titles for links for your Email Marketing Campaigns

We all want to have the best results for our email marketing campaigns, but is not always like that, most often we crash after we hit the big wall of the email clients such as Outlook or Thunderbird, coz they doesn't use a normal html interpreter, in this case the design of our email is loosing automatically the initial graphic shape.

Here are a few tips:
First... the Subject we should give him the greatest importance, as in most of the cases the subject has a major influence in the open rate, it should not contain accents, web addresses or email addresses, you always must personalize the subject with the first or the last name of the recipient, always use simple, usual and common language words, this way you have the minimal chance in this industry to pass over the spam filters.

Some of the defining elements in order to keep your design stable out there:
Most email clients don't support external css, because of that, is appropriate to use inline CSS for anything you want to keep formated, either a table, link or text, this way you can have control on the shape of the email from the design point of view.
Most of the email clients don't load images at the first display if the email sender is unknown (that is the first email received from a new sender) or not saved in the address book, we should keep in mind this one, and build the template design without images and only text for the first shape, after we can add also the images.

Email structure itself must be build from one piece (a single big table), maximum width for the big table should be 700px in order to have a full view of all the big table, it will fit to every email client.
When you create the table structure always have to steer the design line you must focus on horizontal line and not vertical i mean you must go only with rows and not use columns build one column and insert there a new table with the necessary amount of columns, as some email clients such as Google does not support "colspan" and "rowspan".
Css color formatting for tables, images and text you should use Hex # 0A0100, occasionally RGB (10,1,0).

You must use for every image the ALT tag even if it is left empty, the size for image must be defined, this one is mandatory, it is a rule also for the link which is required to have the absolute path with your domain.
If the image is included in the link is very important for the link to have the title tag, it must be populated with text, I have a little secret to tell you here, title for links can be formatted, the inline CSS properties can be added for text size, for the color, and for the font family, etc., these can usually be seen in the first opening or if the images are not allowed to load.

Don't try to insert videos directly in the body of the email... it will not work... the same with forms... and flash doesn't matter if is swf or flv.

I have to mention that it is appropriate for every email campaign that you will send to have a link for the online version, hosted somewhere on your server, basically the same file only that is hosted on your server.
This can be done simply by disposing two identical links, one on the top and the other at the bottom of the table, something like click here to view the images.

Hope to be useful...
