suspension of disbelief. That's what the studios are going for. You know it isn't real, it's actors playing a role, but we make an agreement with them.
They tell the story well, and we will believe it for those 90-120 minutes. I completely fall for it every time I see a good movie (I think this is a good thing by the way), I get choked up a lot of times during dramas when your supposed to, get mad and hate the bad guy. I LOVE movies that do that to me. Luckily I am still able to have those strong emotions from flicks, and it effects the way I work. I have to always remember that thats what we (as an industry) are trying to do with our content. Tell a story. Convince people that this boyfriend/girlfriend have never met before and stuff like that. If they buy into it, they recur. Oh crap, I better stop here before I start going on and on, this is a topic very close to my heart. spaz |
