![]() Many people often ask this question:
How does one use DVD Ripping & Encoding software? As I understand it, for Linux, one would usually use FFmpeg, otherwise one use On2, which I believe is the best for FLV, but is very expensive! Avidemux, like VirtualDub on Windows, supports multiple formats such as MPEG2, AVI, MP4 and FLV, but is of limited use with regard to WMV, and for HD, only MPEG2 and AVI do not support MPEG-TS or H.264; Handbrake, GUI version, is best for iPod or PSP, etc., but does not support Flash; WinFF is FFmpeg+Graphical User Interface, and is very good for Flash, simple and easy; mencoder (MPlayer's Movie Encoder) is good for mpeg4 of Mobile Phone and PDA, and has many options. For Windows or Mac, Sorenson Media is the most professional and optimal solution! Adobe Media Encoder is best for FLV & F4V, while AVS4YOU is particularly user friendly when working with Video Converting and Editing. Another choice TMPGEnc XPress support NVIDIA CUDA. Alloksoft or Zealotsoft are the applications of choice as far as Video Split and Join is concerned. Both for DVD Ripping & Encoding, packages such as 4Videosoft, Aimersoft, Imtoo(Xilisoft), etc. are the ones of choice. Any questions are welcome.
