Verification is not a joke. It's about stopping fraud.

Sounds like you're trying to do eP Verify. If you are in the U.S. and can not check your pending charges online, then you shoud call your bank and they can tell you. If you are not in the U.S. then you may indeed have problems with currency conversion. There are other ways to verify. VBV (Verified by Visa) being the best.
