DrB: You don't get much spam, do ya? I don't have an accurate count, but the last time I turned the filters off for a single download of mail (15 minute block) I got about 80 pieces. that would be 320 an hour... 7500+ per day.

Thankfully, filters keep it down to a VERY few pieces now, mostly VG-RX (they use a very complicated system to split words up in their spams, and use common everyday subject lines that you cannot filter out without losing regular mail).

I won't even discuss the number of bounce mails and "your mail has a virus" reports I get for klez virus (which fakes headers, idiot sys admins shoudl turn off notification, it just clogs things up worse and scares people for no reason) and such.

At this point, I am just short of turning email off completely and just auto-responding "FUCK OFF" to every thing that comes in. It is insane.

You want my attention? fax me.

Alex
