having just gone through the medicare/medicad, supplimental ins. etc.. with my mom just a few weeks ago, *may she be walking well in her next life* i feel your pain. All those "agencies" wanted her to be either destitute or us to gtd that we'd pay.. while it should never be a question of "money" or in our case, which one of us would totally change our life to facilitate her ongoing care.. unfortunately i think that telemarketing rejects are on the other end of the phone lines, disguised as "CUSTOMER Service" people for those government agencies.. trust me i can understand why there is workplace violence.. cuz i really was ready to "holly get your gun".. NOT that i condone that..just a fantasy..
the sad part is, it's only going to get worse as more and more aging baby boomers hit the retirement age still wanting their independence but needing a little help. it's the old "role reversal" in the parent becomes the dependent.
