Greetings from my new office.
 This was by far the easiest network that I have ever setup. So, here I am, in my new office that so far consists of a new desk and my chair My next move...get my TV setup. |

Oddly enough, I've always stayed away from it because I knew that once I got it, I'd be lugging my laptop around with me all over the house & The Bitch would get pissed with me working while speaning time with her.
So I have it, but it's not hooked up unless someone comes over & asks for it |

And yes...of course I am wireless. I went from a $350/month business class cable modem to a $19.95/month cable modem and I can't see any difference. But, I have the wireless router with a repeater and I can go accross the street and still be connected. But, it is secure.

Takes 14 minutes on my laptop to crack my 128 bit WEP key.
Luckily when my dsl was chopped, the neighbors don't use WEP.

My house actually has TWO wireless units now (4 story house, I went for good coverage!). It's nice to have people come over, you give them a key, and off they go.
Let's me use the laptop anywhere I want to... sometimes helps when I am lacking in inspiration :-) Jim, bring on the pics! Alex |

i dont have wireless but the stranges is, my daughter nag she want wireless, at my summerhome i dont have wireless either (i spend 3 a 4 months in a year living at my summerhome) i hate i cant sit outside working and fishing at the same time (yeah i like fishing)so i defitnly think about taking all wireless in my home and at my summerhome

well see it like this, while i promise every year i am gonna spent more time with the fam at my summerhome, i still sit inside and work my butt of while my hubby and kids are outside fishing and having fun.....i need to work, thats my excuse , so yep if i take a wireless connection i still can work and be with them outside, for real i spent more time on the net then with my fam and with a wireless connection i can change that ...a bit.lol. but i heard alot of shit about it so i didnt switch to wireless yet!

I have wireless in my house - one access point on each floor - networked into the DSL - works well.
I have an Apple Airport that I take with me on the road - it has dialup and network jacks - so while in a Hotel, etc, I just hack it in.. BAM! Instant Wireless. Works like a charm. B
