And you say I wanted to cash out and steal your money - Not true I read other threads on your program and a webmaster said your sites dont retain, so why would I want to stay on rev-share and not make hardly anything when I can send my LL traffic to a PPS program and make 25 or 35 ver. 2.95
And why did I post personal se terms - for any other sponsors that question my good converting traffic.. And also It kills me to say I am sorry to insult you with bad name calling in "public" But I can honestly say I sent you NO bogus sign ups or traffic and your stats should filter out "link checkers" Also a FYI I dropped a sponsor for excessive exit consoles and installs that I was making sales from in the start of last summer, and I checked today and seen 50 some hits for this month and like mr. yum said shit happens |

That's a tough break plateman... When you are still making your way in the biz every penny counts - but it isn't always about the money (if it is you will have a hard time indeed).
There is always another sponsor just as there are always other webmasters. ARS accused me of fraud a couple years ago when my conversions started hovering around 1:12. I sent them an email which basically said "Fine - your loss"... It took me less than 15 minutes to find another sponsor which not only never bitched about my great conversions - they gave me a job. ARS lost out on tens of thousands of dollars in sales from me since that time. No big deal to them - they always have more webmasters. No big deal to me - there is always another sponsor. This business is all about leveraging your time and effort and others' time and effort. A lot of wasted energy has went into this thread, so I hope it teaches someone out there something. - Netpiddler |

I want to live. I want to experience the universe, and I want to eat pie.

I've had conversion ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 (that's sales to clicks). It tends to happen when I'm first promoting a site and sending pure, straight-off-the-linklist traffic; or it comes off consoles popped by the paysites (I hate agressive pops, but I do loves me some consoles - heck, with consoles, I've had 1:0!). With a little dumb luck you can get obscenely good ratios off small amounts of traffic. It's some cruel trick of math, I'm sure. When you get into the 100-5000 click range, things get wonky...crest 5000 and things start to normalize again. (Why yes, I have become a stats junkie -why do you ask?) I suspect some people look at small traffic webmasters and assume we must be cheating to get any sales at all. Ironically, we also often assume those sponsors are cheating, because we get a sale within our first ten clicks, and then nothing for the next three years (yes, I have been in this situation). Plateman, I completely sympathize with your situation and your feelings. I have never been accused of cheating in this biz, and I pray the day never comes. (I still have nightmares about the time I was falsely accused of shoplifting when I was...10? 12? A long fuckin' time ago. But I digress.) I understand that even if you need the money, it's not about the money. And with that said, I have to agree with others, it's best to move on. You're only going to hurt yourself if you continue to focus on this incident. I know you want to fight for your honor, but sometimes it's wiser to let sleeping dogs lie. (Lay?) Be the sadder but wiser webmaster, and work to develop closer relationships with your sponsors so stuff like this doesn't happen to you again. Much luck and all my best wishes to you. |

* You can go with a cheaper host to save money - only to find your sites down all the time and no support from the host to fix the issue... * You can go with a sponsor program because they offer $40 per trial and advertising amazing conversions - only to learn they also offer no support or have shady business practices... * You can buy content sets for $3 a piece to save money and submit away to high competition sites... * Those of us who are leaders and mentors in the business could stop helping fellow webmasters for free and start charging them for the simplest of answers... I spend a huge amount of time every day helping others that are struggling or just need answers - should I charge them by the hour - I don't think so... My point being is that those that see we are a small part of a much bigger picture and put others first from time to time become leaders and mentors in this business. Sure you can be in it for money as this is a business - but as I said - the money isn't everything. - Netpiddler |

Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a Q-tip!

Maybe Plateman is an incredibly good salesman with a fully pre-qualified sale BEFORE they click thru?
I remember the days where that was possible without anyone thinking FRAUD. ![]()
