Happy Thanksgiving! We're having 12 for dinner here today. And yes, we always have turkey on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving in Canada represents a celebration of the end of harvest. The growing season ends a lot sooner here than it does south of the border (except for the mid-northern states, whom we share our Artic air with ), so in early - mid October we have always had a 'thanksgiving' for the bountiful harvest.

This was something that was picked up from the Natives by the early settlers and continues today as an excuse for a long holiday weekend .. LOL. The Natives still celebrate a Pow-Wow on this weekend. There's a big one here put on by the Ojibways every year out near the Casino.

Anyway, I better get off this damn machine and go help the wife or I'll be in trouble.

Happy Columbus Day to all our American friends. Have a good one!
