This is all just insane. I am a huge hockey fan it is just disturbing this shit is even happening. These professional athletes get paid way too much for what they do. Lets start bringing in the younger, more willing players, more stars will emerge. I remember here in Detroit when Federov got that big as s paycheck. Next thing you know beers are like $10 a piece, ticket prices went way up.
The fans are the only ones who really suffer as it costs more and more to go to a game, and we don't get to see hockey during the strike. I remember you used to go to a hockey game for about $75-100 for a couple people back in the day. Now I don't think you can even buy a ticket to Joe Louis arena for less than $100 and if you can they are nosebleeds or standing area only. I know the tickets I used to get were $225 per seat (10 rows from the glass) and that was back around 96-98. I can't imagine what the seat prices are now for that same seat. I mean i bet it costs $100 for beer, nachos/pizza at the arena anymore. Just getting WAY out of hand. |
