Took the hint.

Richard, any part of a site coming from a third party is NOT in the owners control. If a hack comes out tomorrow based on images (like that recent jpg hack) then 1x1 images are just as risky as full page ones. Someone breaks into your systems and puts malicous code and suddenly tens of thousands of websites are spewing stuff without the owner's control.
Also, I am sure you are aware that most of the top sites on your lists have no privacy statement or disclosure of third party tracking. ![]() It's all in how you look at it, I guess. Most important, it's my link lists, so my rules ![]() Alex |

I'm all for webmasters using all the tools available to help anaylyze and understand their traffic, but when it comes to basic free sites, I just can't take the time to view everyone's source and figure out why I'm getting alerted about a cookie or what purpose the java has. I have to use blanket policies for expedience and practicality. I believe you when you say SexCounter is clean, but because so many other third party counters have gone to the dark side, we have to lump them all together in order to ensure that sites are clean. It's not an anti-SexCounter rule by any means.
I do thank you for clearing up how your counter is different from that of other companies.
