Are Americans allowed to buy fireworks?

Minnesota - you can't have anything really big. You can have Roman Candles and bottle rockets, but not the Big booming things. Some small firecrackers are allowed some aren't.
However, from here, Fargo North Dakota is 45 minutes. So we buy all our Big booming things there.
I'm thinking that Buddy will be doing the 4th this weekend.

If you don't smell like gunpowder and popcorn and spilled beer on the 4th, you didn't have a good time.
(of course that's after a day of fishing and water skiing)
