Well the truth of the matter is dial up people would be pretty unhappy with the sponser... it is truthfully better they don't wait for the site to load....

But that loses 50% of your visitors automatically. You're much better off optimizing those pics and attempt to sell the site. It's up to the sponsor to take care of the rest.
