The standard for pics are minimum 500 pixels on the long side. I get lots of submission at the moment that have HUGE pics - 1024x768 and above and I decline most of them... reason.. a huge amount of surfers are still on dialup connections and they are not gonna sit there and wait to download a 150K+ pic;( Thumbnails.. vary a little.. but 100-140(longside) is probably about standard - remember clear large-ish thumbnails.. work better than tiny compressed ones.. and may just save you a little bandwidth.
