I don't think he's looking to give her a free ride, just trying to avoid the embarassment of being excluded from graduation. It is a right of passage after all. They could hand her a blank piece of paper with the requirement that she attend summer school.

Next thing you know, you're going to say that only virgins can go to the prom - and where would have that left my wife?

Which is what my school allowed, but then we never got our diplomas during the ceremony, we had to wait until it was over or for 3 days in case someone did something during the ceremony.... did I mention how I had to have my mommy go get it for me?

But I think the bigger issues is where was her guidance consular at the beginning of the year telling her "you are short"? Mine told me at the start of my junior year I was short, so I picked up more classes and was 3+ then I needed to graduate.

She might have failed, but the school failed as well and 1 week notice is way worse then what she has done.

Exactly what I asked for. There are rules for teacher conduct just like there is in law. School Policy states, "If a non-regents teacher is in danger of not passing a Graduating student, that teacher must orally inform the parents 2 months prior to Graduation." They do that so the student can do extra credit if needed. If we were informed, we would have made sure she did what she had to do to graduate.
