Internext: Camp HOMEGROWN!

Homegrown Video will sponsor its first "Camp Homegrown" at the Florida Internext! Come join us poolside for fun games like Ho Bobbin' and Panty Raid plus enjoy campy crafts like Decorate-the-Dildo. Great times and goody bags will be enjoyed by all who participate so if you are interested in pre-registration and guaranteed participation then please email timlake@homegrownvideo.com asap! It is free and there is no obligation necessary to be involved.

Twice a day at 11am and 2pm, every day of the show, our "STAFF MEMBERS" and "HEAD COUNSELORS" (sorry but how could we resist...) will kick off an activity for all the Campers. We will get as wild as the Hotel will allow and spectators are entirely welcome too. We look forward to making CAMP HOMEGROWN one of the highlights of this and future shows. Everyone that joins in the fun will also get plugged during our camp activities so if you want some free exposure for you, your company, your program, or whatever then don't pass up the chance to jump in on the festivities.

Camp Homegrown: OUR BUSINESS IS YOUR PLEASURE!

That was not spam

The invitation to our festivities at Internext was neither a good or a service that would merit it being moved to the Products and Services thread... where no one is seeing it.

A party event is not a service. Nor is it a "good" unless everyone walks away saying it was good.

If that was spam then call me a vegetarian.

It was an invite to an open for all attendees party. I say clearly there is no obligation so it is a purely generous gesture.

I think it was a bit harsh to move it there but you guys are the boss. Doesn't mean you don't get to hear me bitch about it though.

(end of rant)

I didn't move your post so I have a hard time addressing it. But, we have one simple rule, if you are a sponsor, you make announcements on the main board. If you are not, products and services. I just looked at your post and Camp Homegrown is setup to promote your program, right? You aren't doing it just because you want to piss money away, do you?

We are strict when it comes to protecting our sponsors investments but I think they do appreciate it/

Actually... since everyone that participates in the games is going to get promoted that is not the case. I also made that clear in the post.

We aren't spending too much to pull it off either so we don't consider it pissing away anything.

Just like when we did the Amateur Roundtables and Amateur Discount we do that for the benefit of the community and for those that would not be able to afford that kind of exposure otherwise.

The only way we are promoting ourselves is calling it Camp Homegrown. Beyond that this and all the other events we have pulled have been about giving back to the community. Once again, we don't consider it pissing away cash. Besides, our affiliates come to us by word of mouth and invitation so Camp Homegrown is not that style of promo at all.

Once again, I must say I just think that whose ever decision it was is being unreasonable. I am not a fly by spammer by any degree. On the occaisional time I do say anything about our program I am always apologetic if it even appears to be spam. And I say it again.... Camp Homegrown is neither a product or a service. It is a party/activity for attendees of internext.

No worries. Your sponsors will just be in the dark about a FREE opportunity to get some hype about their programs at the show.

out as Ron likes to say.

Far-L - you know I love you

Like Jim said, the rules of the board mean that this gets moved

Plus, you have to add in that both Jim & I are NOT going to Miami because AVN is trying to suck as much money out of Joe Blow Webmaster as they can.

Jim's boycotting AVN all-together. I'll be in Vegas, but that's only because it's Vegas - I still haven't decided if I'm going to buy a badge or not & I know I will NOT be giving any money to Rose Travel.

So pretty much anything Internext related will get shit on & moved

(and I type all this while wearing my brand new green Homegrown Video baseball hat)

lol... I know you guys aren't picking on me and I am just griping a bit because I feel comfortable enough here to do so.

I have always got a fair shake from AVN and been able to work with them. If there is anything i could do to help heal that relationship then I would be glad to help.

This is my favorite board in terms of smart noobs, generous veterans, and real business, and solid info btw.

I am completely honored that you are sporting the new hg hat but sorry you won't be in Florida!

Ok... I will quit bitching. You guys know I love you too!

Let AVN know that it doesn't always have to be about the money. There is only one reason to have a convention in Florida in August. And, then to combine shows in Vegas just after New Year. I think they would get a lot more webmasters if they just switched the places and dates. They have to stop being so greedy before I ever go to one of their shows again. It's ok to be about the money as long and it's not only about the money. And with AVN, that is the case.

I suspect that in Florida, they will notice a huge decline in webmasters not attending. There are webmasters that live in Florida that are not going just because of the raise in prices. Come on...charging for a pass just to get into the hotel. AVN is all about greed and nothing about business.

One more thing...until they change their ways, they will not see a dime from me or GGandJ. And, they will not get any promotion from GGandJ. As a matter of fact, I see a new newsletter rant in my future.
