MrYum, I had the same issue with a sponsor who told me "I need to learn how to build sites". I went over and changed the links and send the traffic to my own niche specific pages and the sales started rolling in. It's a pain but it's worth it.

Bill, I have never agreed with the "Build, submit, forget". I always "Build, analize and adjust"
