I made over $660 in 3 months from my previous exit link. It was pay per click. My current (pay per signup) one is not doing so well - just testing the waters right now with that link.

I believe it is a waste to send it to a Search Engine. I think people started to use that as their exit thinking it will raise their site in SE rankings.
