rumor currently is fiber cut affecting global crossing, however, I am not seeing any BGP announcements for many of their blocks -- including the ones they use for DNS
sh ip bgp 66.154.0.3 % Network not in table However, their third nameserver, ns3, which appears to be homed on AT&T does appear to be responding.
