A question for Surfn's Links partners

Not to change the subject Surfn, but what exactly is the appeal of a blog? I have looked over a few and dont get it. Basically its joe blo telling the iternet world about his day or whatnot? Maybe I have seen some poor examples.

They can be excellent traffic pumps if operated the right way
