By this do you mean I can change the words in a recip, to add variation to each of my sites, without causing any problems with LL owners, so long as it's relevant?

I was under the impression that a smart LL owner builds their recips with specific keyword targeting in mind.

Targetting the exact keywords used to be the way to go.

I think what Alex is referencing is more recent information that the big G now looks at too many text links with the exact same anchor text may be considered link spam. So, some variation in anchor text ... while remaining relevant to the category ... may in fact be a good thing. Please correct me if I'm wrong here Alex...or anyone else for that matter

Speaking for myself, I'm pleased a punch with some variation in the anchor text of my recip links. Again, maintaining the links themselves and remaining true to the category...but some variation is a good thing
