You Will Not Be Forgotten

Yeah this was an experience; the only other personal experience I can relate to this is the OKC memorial that we went to in 2002 or so. (We have not been to DC yet)

We spoke to the River Boat Vet for a bit and had a good conversation with him which almost took a turn for the worse when another vet who was there saw my t-shirt which was a skull and crossbones with the words “without fear there can be no courage – Key West Florida” which we got the last time we was down there.

For some reason he got very offended by this, you could feel his anger and he was ready to say something when another vet came from behind and “distracted him”. No idea what his issue was, the only thing I can think of is Key West is “known” as a liberal town and a mecca for gays.

Oh well… fuck him I will wear what I want to wear.

The memorial part of the reunion was pretty nice, had a lot of things to see and for the most part, vets who were very friendly and willing to talk. Once we crossed the road it was nothing more then a fair with crap tents selling crap all over and it had a totally different feel to mood, we walked around for 5 minutes and had our fill of the “fair” and went back over to the memorial part.

We also saw a lot of “Anti Kerry” shit…. Um…. It’s been 2 years, you won… move on…..

Wow great pics Torn thanks for sharing those! What a great tribute that is, my husband served in Vietnam and was very moved by the pictures also..
