Fast shooting digital camera

Hubby and I are in the market for a new camera. I have done a lot of research, but have not been thrilled with what I have found. The fastest one I have seen is about 1.2 seconds between shots. Can anyone point me in the right direction on a faster camera. Cost not really an issue. Just quality and speed.

My Nikon D70 shoots as fast as I can push the shutter release.

You should maybe take a look also at the new HD vid cams. The high definition stills from them are amazing.

I use a Canon EOS 10D which is now a extinct but doesnt have an issue. I would assume the new and improved 20D would be the same.

The speed of the storage card also will affect how fast you can shoot. With a fast card and my Nikon D70 I can shoot over 140 pics at maximum resolution as fast as I can push the shutter release before the camera's cache fills up and needs to take a few seconds to write out the cache to the card but with an old slow memory card I may only be able to shoot 50 pics before the camera's cache fills up and it needs to take a several seconds to write to the card.

Also the resolution that you shoot at will affect speed. I shoot at maximum resolution in case we want to make photo quality 11x14 prints of something but if all you want is web quality then you can shoot far more, maybe in the thousands, and the camera will never pause to write out its cache.

I know the SLR is not going away to soon but I hate to see this. I also read at another site (can't remember the link, think it was yahoo) said canon stopped making them also. Something like 87 million cameras were sold world wide last year and only 5 million were SLR film cameras.

Yeah they do end up looking like a flip book if I shoot that fast. lol

It's good to shoot that fast if you are trying to get a perfect cum shot or some kind of gushing fluids or something that is just real hard to catch the perfect shot.

Hi there , this is the best site for digital camera info

http://www.dpreview.com

If you want a pain stupid fast camera this is what I use...5 frames per second

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos20d/

BUT, if you've never used a Digital SLR digital camera and have been using digital point and shoot be warned that you can't use the LCD display as a veiwfinder...if you didn't already know that

This is really the best deal for digital SLR's though

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/ You can use a remote with this one too...just incase you ever want to shoot yourself

If price is no object, you might want to look at the Canon EOS 5D. It's a full framed 12.8 megapixel camera! Or try the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II... it's about $7000!

While cost is not really an issue; I would not spend 7k when about 1k would do as good a job.

Nikon D70 on its way tomorrow I'm hoping.
