Personally I'd leave in the warning statement, just make it smaller or put it in a form box with a scroll. I'd also leave in the exit/leave link also as at least 1 big linklist prefers them.

Oh, and I personally hate mismatched thumbs. If 90% of your pictures are vertically longer then custom cut the thumbnails for the other 10% for a consistent look. But that's just me being anal.
