Eighteen 'til I Die

I have done a little reading about 2257. Best I can remember the proposed regulations required it on the entry page. Now, you would think that meant the index page but if I give you the URL to http://mydomain/freesite/main.html does main.html becomes an entry page? Who knows how Justice would interpete it. I have heard that someone was writing a script to make everything go the index page to do a sign in before any of the other pages could be viewed. For as I know lots of this stuff is up in the air so maybe our tip to newbies would be 'ask your lawyer'. ![]() |

What you point out is something that has been the squeaky wheel in my mind all along. Linking to anything other than a warning page would seem on the face of it difficult and making the 2257 act useless and unenforcable. Direct pages are commonly linked to and a webmaster can't be responsible for how his pages get bookmarked so that would suggest either 2257 info on every page or an act that has no practical usefulness whatsoever. |
