Paymonde Bites the Dust!
I don't see a thread on it here but apparently they are on the run...and again I might add from what I have read on other boards.

Evidently they lost either their Visa or their MC and are trying to work things out. Their apparent limited communication on the topic is causing some distress among the webmaster community.
Clearly it is a difficult time for the owners, and for those who rely on their services. I don't envy either side. As I am not a client, I suppose it's pretty easy to be magnanimous, but I'm not sure it's fair to punish Paymonde for Ibill's sins. Hopefully they will be able to turn things around in time for all involved. It will do us no good at all to lose yet another billing option. On a good note, I hope to see all of those programs using their services through NATS fulfilling their obligations by paying their affiliates, since that is one of the responsibilities a program takes on when deciding to pay their affiliates directly. |

I have been seeing a lot of bad things from paymonde since about the 10th or before. The owners seem to have tried to erase themselves from the site. Nothing good will come from this.

I didn't have much with them but I never saw a conversion...If they will run they will skim before they run.

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I was seeing a lot of sales via MVC and for the last two weeks, nothing. I hope they get MC back and we can all add them back into our cascades.

Lana's Lingerie Tease was using them but has already replaced them. Scarlett Content was using them. I can get into the myvirtualcard interface but I can't get a click report or listing of all sponsors to resolve at the moment. It is a pretty big list...PM me if you want it and I can actually get it.

I was just thinking it would be good to post a public list of any sponsors that might use them as their only processor for the benefit of affiliates that might not even know they arent going to get paid

Isn't that one of the responsibilities that a program accepts when they take on their own distribution of payments? You know, to PAY thier affiliates? This bargain basement lease pricing of Nats removes important entry barriers, letting everyone and anyone keep control of our money. Six months later, people realize that it's not easy to run a program or paysites and close up shop, leaving everyone high & dry. In this case, the processor may have gone under, and most of us don't even know who used them. It is times like this that I really appreciate the affiliate programs that are administered by the billing company themselves, like Cbill & Epoch. At least then, we know who we've gotten into bed with. |

I'm not certain, but I think http://nats.exclusively4affiliates.com/ uses them

Good point Linkster. I have been able to access the first page of the list so far. If Greenie or Jim think it is OK for me to post the list I will. Otherwise anyone interested can ask me and I will send them a word doc.

I have compiled the complete list. They are mostly smaller niche players however there are probably several more that were using them as a secondary processor...

But (for example) Top Bucks, who uses CCBill to process but has their own admin, would be responsible to pay their affiliates? |

When somebody wishes to promote my sites, they enter into a contract with Ccbill, (or epoch in some other's case). In administering the program, CCbill or Epoch has assumed responsibility, and in effect liability. When Ibill went down, they were indeed culpable and the target of lawsuits. When signing up for a Nats or MPA based program, you are entering a contract with the paysite owner. The billing company has nothing to do with the affiliates, and no responsibility towards them. The paysite owner assumes all of this. Affiliates really should not care who is handling the back end (other than approval/decline ratios) as that's an arrangement between the paysite owner and the processor. The paysite owner cannot have it both ways- if they wish to handle the money and the payouts, then they need to payout. It's not the affiliate's problem that they chose to deal with that particular processor. |

I only say that I'm being a dick because I was proving my point using your words
![]() I honestly still don't get it - it's not like CCBill recruited me or I went to CCBill and asked what programs they have that I could sign up for. CCBill does give programs a lot of tools to make it easier for them to run an affiliate program, but some programs want multiple processors & bells & whistles & whatnot - but the bottom line is that I signed up to promote your program, regardless of the processor. I'm not sure why bitching that much anyway, aside from the lack of understanding on the thought process - I'd never ask a program for money if their processor went belly-up & didn't send them the money they were owed as I pretty much know they can't pay me what they don't have. We can drop it if you want, but I think it's a good discussion & I (and I assume others) are a bit confused by your thought process, which is why I'm acting like a dick ![]() ![]() |
