Mmmmm- I like the way they work for layout - I get tired of horizontal banners - but I see your point. We added the domain to try to clarify this but... Oh well, I'll use them where I can and set other sites up without them - as needed.

I think you'd be better off focusing the advertising on the site to your own site and drop the other two sponsors. For a free-site on an index, I'd be especially text intensive to really try to get some search engine love.

Those thumbs with the text on the bottom will get you declined. Split those into 2 images lay them in a table and only link the text at the bottom. What I'd do is place the thumbs unlinked and link real text below the thumbs, personally.

Totally off of topic, for a freesite on a root -- you sure chose an intresting and diverse set of linklists to submit to.

I split the images - I'll work on the text - and a background behind it so it's legible. This is a great idea - especially considering the above mentioned for "text" or "content" on a root directory.

OK - I'm not a virgin anymore - been accepted at a few LLs and waiting on the others. - still need to wring this one totally out so the next one is as near perfect as possible.

One more question: Is it ok to run the same free site in a subdirectory with different LLs or is that a no-no?

Expect to see outlawlesbians.com in a few days..... you should have see the responses I got when I posted this subject on a blog the other day - some of those girls don't want to be outlawed.

Most people don't want a sub-domain, but a directory off the root is fine. Good luck with your sites.

I accepted it, but I'd like to see the thumbs a little clearer/crisper. Judging by the full size pics, you aren't worried about bandwidth , so for the next site I'd suggest beefing the thumbs up to the area of 5-8kb each. Their dimensions are fine, so bringing up the weight would aid in making them much more clear.

OK - I use photoshop CS2 for most of my workflow and I batch using the web photo gallery function to create web images and thumbnails - I don't need any of the html it produces but I like how it handles my images - problem is I don't see a way to change the weight (jpg compresssion) of the thumbnails - guess I'll just have to write another action to get better thumbnails. One more step......arrrg

And I brought the image size down to 800x535 = 1335 - killed me but bandwidth will become an issue and I'll save the large images for the pay site(s).
