Looks like a pretty "karmicly" balanced system to me.

You mentioned that the traffic was being redirected so the only bandwidth that is used is by spiders (and the links from this site). The guy/gal that put up this page gets a little SE traffic and the image hosts get incoming links with a minimum of bandwidth load. Seems pretty fair to me. Plus the images are coming from Google's cache.

If I were going to cry foul it would be toward Google (or Yahoo or even MSN) for even having an image index in the first place.

Seems this guy found a clever way to use Google for his benefit. I have to have some respect for that, but I don;t know that I would call him a cheat, per se.

Well, it seems to me that you are an ignorant cunt. Hotlinking is hotlinking. If you are too fucking stupid to see how hotlinking from anyone, let alone your own god damned affiliate, is WRONG - then I'm amazed your brain can handle the processes which keep your filthy little body alive.

They weren't just hotlinking Google Images, they were also hotlinking an image directly from my site - IDIOT.

Let me understand this... DirtyDaisy provided you with free content to promote and then you get your thong in a twist because that content appeared in a Google scrape. Ok, the simple solution for you, if this is really bothering you is to A) put hot link protection on your site. B) use the robots.txt file to insure that none of your precious SPONSOR PROVIDED content gets into the index.

I covered this in the original post but since it is obvious that you are a short-bus'er I will cover it again and this time I will type slowly.

In every one of your examples the originating site has a link back to the image location. Anyone with even medium intellect can see that the originating sites are getting tons of inbound links where they would not otherwise.

Take a pill get over this and refrain from calling me the same names that you mother calls you.

UW - the easiest way to take care of this is to report the issue to Google using the spam report located inside the webmasters tools area (the login sction) as these actually get read - the offending domain should get removed from Google within a day or two
Secondly, and more importantly, while I see both sides as I know how those scripts work and they do scrape the links that Google has pointing back to your site, you are very correct in that if someone does something whether intentional or not (although in this case the use of a tool like that makes it intentional no matter what) - they are held responsible the same way any program is for anything that is outside the relationship boundries we tend to develop in the biz.

This is very similar to what one sponsor has been doing for many years (Dave will back me up on this one) and still does it to this day - which has led to that sponsor being blacklisted many places (although they are evidently going out of business now) and the loss of many WMs promoting them.
