He was my neighbor in NYC. We had a nice passing nod. I first actually met him at the 1st closing party for Doonebury back in the 80's. He was at the bar next to me.. so being a bit drunk -- ok a lot drunk -- after a few minutes of silly conversation.. i said in my best big girl voice "ya know i really loved Fahrenheit 451" .. and being the classy guy he was said.."yah me too, that Bradbury writes a good story" and just kept on with the convo.
Needless to say I read everything after that that he wrote and he gave me a couple of signed editions which my oldest son called me in the middle of the night to tell me to put them on Ebay.. NO freaking way.. kids--the have no sense of HIStory. Ahhh well .. So it goes...  |
