Outlook Express Help
I set up a new e-mail address for my new domain and can send mail out but I get a mailer daemon when trying to send an e-mail in to the new address. I went to Outlook Express and clicked Tools, then Accounts, then Add, then Mail. I went through each step and for the incoming and outgoing mail servers to mail.girls-that-squirt.com. The next screen was for my username and password from my server. I entered that and went to Outlook and clicked File, then Switch Identity and highlignted girls-that squirt. Mail goes out but why can't I mail in to the e-mail address??

If you can post the error message with the returned mail it might help.

Here it is: Your e-mail is being returned to you because there was a problem with its delivery. The address which was undeliverable is listed in the section labeled: "----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----". The reason your mail is being returned to you is listed in the section labeled: "----- Transcript of Session Follows -----". The line beginning with "<<<" describes the specific reason your e-mail could not be delivered. The next line contains a second error message which is a general translation for other e-mail servers. Might be an idea to edit the post and remove the mail addys or you'll get the vermin spamming you to hell.
With the "Unknown User" error i'd check you've set it up properly as it's basically saying that addy doesn't exist. Sometimes it could be just a typo in the setup or wrong mail server settings. I wish i could be more help with that but hopefully someone with more of an idea can help. ![]() |

The tech at my server says I got everything set up OK on their end so I must have a problem with Outlook Express. I can send mail but none gets in. Now when I send a mail in it doesn't bounce, it just disappears into cyberspace. That's odd...

Strange one that. |confused|
Have you checked the security settings in outlook express? Anything else that may be blocking like firewall/virus scanner, i know zonealarm has spam filter with it so maybe theres something seeing it as that. Have you tried sending a mail to anyone you know to see if they receive ok? I've always found it's something stupid i've overlooked when this type of thing happens. ![]() |

I got it fixed. When setting up the new e-mail account in Outlook Express I thought the username / password would be what I use to log in to the server control panel for the domains I already have. The e-mail account should have a username of webmaster@(newdomainname.com)
Well fuck me, I'll never smile again... |
