Linking/Banner rules
Not sure I understand the difference here, ie from Cleos links:
3 banner/links per page, strictly enforced. My recip must be with 4-12 other recips. and must be above the enter link or on main page above content. If you have main page recips then mine must be there to. ------------------- 3 banner/links per page but must be with 4-12 other recips? So you can lots of recips on a page, but only 3 banners going somewhere else, is that what this means? Thanks |

it means: max 3 banners or text links to the sponsor, and 4 links back to TGP's you are submitting the gallery to. Cleo's link would be one of those 4 at the top of the page somewhere.

The 4-12 other recips rule is probably for free sites (link lists & not galleries (TGP's)
I have that same rule - 3 banners/ads per page - but seeing as recips are necessary so that everyone gets a little traffic back, they are not counted towards anything (unless you put up way too many of them on the same page) |

Oh ok! So...if I make a gallery page, I can have up to
3 links to site/sites trying to promote and at least 4 TGP sites or others like Greenguy etc so that page itself has been listed on multiple sites. Think I got now...I kept thinking could only have 3 outside links period. Didn't quite get what a banner was as helpin a friend with her site...which she is still hoping to get listed at greenguy some day...sheepish grin... This is my first gallery page ever so total newb attempt... http://www.idrinkpiss.com/sample1/sample1.htm Its not listed at Cleo btw, no idea if they ever checked it or site at all, still hopin... |

Ummmm....interesting site you have there
 What you have there is considered "a pay site with samples" & it would be listed as such at most link lists (and with the size of the free movies, you don't want it lsited as a free site) I also think it's a safe bet that you don't know much about tables - you might want to brush up on your html skills as the way you have the recips & everything under them is rather hap-hazzardly thrown together. Also, looking at your index.html page, youc an probably tighten up all that warning text a bit (it's way too long the way it is now) I'd also get rid of the exit links on every page - especially the one on your join page - give them an exit link on the 1st page they hit & that page only. You're going to eventually run into problems by putting s p a c e s in your file names. General rule of thumb is don't use spaces or odd characters. Using a set color for the background but the surfers default colors for the text & links & font will cause you problems that you'll never even notice. That's what I can see off the top of my head. |

Looking up how to set surfer default font etc We have ~10Gb a day transfer so not worried about clips yet Did have DivX movies up though w ate through bw fast so took those down! When get finished will resubmit site for inspection! |

Ok...think I got most of your recommendations, having
problems setting base font to work w/o screwing up whole pages but working on it! All the "free" sites are simply galleries pointing to a pay site. Means have to get another domain to host galleries etc pointing to our site. Seems kinda stupid but if thats the way it goes, thats the way it goes... |

The way you have it set up is the problem - with all the "members", "cancel", "join" etc links, it's a pay site tour that has free samples.
And please don't take this the wrong way, but you really need to brush up on yout html skills - that site looks like it was made in 1997. |

1997 lol At least you didnt say 1897!!! Well...its my first attempt, had to get something running for a friend of mine. She likes it, simple, clear, gets message across i hope...i won't tell her what you said though...maybe i will, kinda funny! |

1st thing is stay away from any default settings - font, link & text color, etc. I understand that you have the yellow background on there because it is a piss site, but i think a not-so-bright version of yellow - maybe #FFFF99 - would be a little easier on the eyes.
& Like I said before - make one clear cut entrance into the site - all these mainindex & mainindex2 pages are gonna get people confused. Go poke around at some paysites & see how they have their entrance & navigation set up. You'll see not too many have links on there (make free sites for that - more on that in a minute) 1st page (index.html) should have a clear cut warning, enter link, exit link, members link & join link. 2nd page should start off the tour - have next, members & join links on there & all the pages that are in the tour. Now, as far as promoting it, make up some free sites for link lists & some galleries for TGP's - surf around some link lists & tgp's for ideas as to how to set these up. |
