I agree that the sidebar is too small. If possible try to make the side bar bigger and also make the text bigger as well. Its really hard to read the text as its so small compared to the rest of the page.

Next, I think you should break up the thumbs into more visually appealing groups of thumbs separately by banners and or text to help break them up.

You also have a lot of mixture in there, so it would be nice to divide the thumbs up by section if possible (this may not be possible though). For example, you have some great hard core thumbs and some awesome teen or cheerleader thumbs and they attract different markets.
