Good-Bye to all of you... from ~Bell
this is a hard one to write...
I wanted to take this time to tell my friends here that I have enjoyed getting to know you... spending time with you... and I will miss you... I have decided to leave the business... as many of you know I had been looking for someone hiring for quite some time... the right situation hasn't presented itself... and it's time for me to do something different... a gal has to make hard decisions that aren't always what she'd prefer to do - when a gal has to save her house and car... 3 years ago I'd have never imagined being in a spot like this... but in 2001 unexpected medical expenses and relocating a sister from one end of the country to another after she had a stroke - has totally depleted my savings... I get nervous when my $$ cushion is gone... that's why I kept asking around and posting on boards looking for work... something I had been hoping for for nearly a year - today - fell through and I guess it's time for me to move on... this is a hard one to write because: I. I am going to sincerely miss you... 2. I feel like such a failure in this biz... although I have accomplished quite a bit and learned allot... in the back of my mind there's a little voice that says hang in there... but I am in a panic sort of mood... thinking I better hurry and make some changes - maybe one day when my savings are built back up to a level I feel safe working hours and hours on the internet - maybe then I'll be back... 3. I am generally such a private person about my real - private life... but I couldn't leave you - without saying goodbye... and giving you a bit of a reason... I am so GLAD that I was able to go to the Vegas - Internext 2004 convention as a result of winning a contest that WEGCash.com had - - - I loved meeting lots of you... that also makes it harder for me to be saying goodbye... I don't WANT to leave you... I wish you all the best... and I don't plan to cross post this (at least as of this moment in time - I probably won't mention this anywhere else - except maybe... maybe 1 other place - - - hopefully those that I've met along the way will see this via the BoardTracker.com and the BoardScanner.com services... there's no way I could ever personally touch base with all of them... so I hope they SEE this... I'll miss you....) with hugs and love... ~Bell |

Bell this is terrible news.... I never pictured you as the type to leave something you enjoyed doing, your friendly, and you have even told me that your energetic, and self motivated..
Have you looked at this in every way possible, have you exhausted all possible oppratunities?? The reason i ask is that many people when they recieve news they are not fond of, or look at something somewhat quickly, they allow it to effect them in the wrong way inittially, than when they take some time to step back and really evaluate the situation, they see it sint that bad, or at least as bad as they had first thought. (Anyone that knows me will tell you I always explode initially, than calm down when I take a step back from the situation to think about it). I hope you take some more time to really look at it Bell, I think you have a bright future in the business and would hardly say your a failure in it, in any way.

Bell, very sad to hear that.
One thing you should consider is not leaving completely. You don't have to. The internet will run itself until you have time to put into it. I worked this business for over 2 years while working a fulltime job until my income became good enough to leave that fulltime job and do this. That is how many have done it. Keep your head up. Bell,
It was nice to meet you in Vegas and I'm sorry you are looking at leaving the business. Maybe you can try typing up a paragraph with what you are looking to do for an employer and post it on a bunch of the other boards. I work a full time job right now and run my own sites (although my full time job is also in this business, just working for someone else) but you can do it. A couple extra hours at night even if you do get a full time job to keep the extra income rolling in is a big plus. Hope you dont leave completely. Andy |

 Ya know it took guts to make a post like this one - I know it had to be very hard for you... It also takes the same fortitude (and more) not to give up on something you yourself said you don't want to give up on. Many of us have been in similar situations at some point. I get similar emails at least a couple times a month from webmasters. I have seen webmasters go through deaths of spouses, bankruptcies, attempted suicides, repossessions - even one webmaster who is stricken with a serious illness that has them currently bedridden in the hospital yet they still go at it on their laptops. These are people who experienced serious set-backs and tragedies yet never gave up. You obviously have a tight knit family here willing to do anything to help you. Its ok to feel frustrated and concerned about your situation, but you also must use the same feelings to "get mad" and decide that you will not give up on your goals and dreams. Leave the biz on YOUR terms when you are ready. Leave to travel the world. Leave because you can't stand the thought of cashing another sponsor check. Leave because you've done all you set out to do and want to take on other projects or spend time with family and friends... But whatever you do Bell, do not leave simply because you don't see any other way around it at this point. Adult webmasters are creative and caring people. We can help you get on track - but its entirely up to you kick, fight, and scream your way back to where you want to be. I've given up loads of times... and thought about getting a 9 to 5 job. But something always came up, even at the last minute, to stop me. There's some really nice people posting here, and as you can see, you've already had offers. In the immortal words of Prince... Bell if I were you I would still try to build at least a couple of free sites a week and get them listed. Remember this biz can earn you $$ even while sleeping. Not sure how your hosting expenses sre but shave it down to one domain that is sorta brandable and runn all your sites thru that. You are very nice hope you hang on.

I do agree with what the others have said, you CAN keep your biz alive part time. I remember you coming on the scene over on ANS and you've always struck me as a standup kind of person, and one that if there was a match I'd be happy to do business with. Bell - (and for those who haven't figured it out yet)
I don't hang around here much anymore. In fact, I have another full time job myself for health reasons. I review Mark's when I have time, as well as a couple others jobs that I can schedule when I have time. Point being, don't drop out completely. My oldest son will be making free sites again within a week or so, basically taking my submitting place. SE traffic that you have built up over time will not decline over night... Do what you have to do to get your cushion back, then slowly work your way back into the fray of this biz.

you have mail seems the BoardTracker.com and BoardScanner.com worked well - - - I at last count had 71 eMails from friends and others with suggestions... there are some really terrific webmasters out there so refreshing to know that even though they might not post here often - or at all... that they do READ the boards thank you all for your eMails... and for your posts here...
