My MILF Porn Blog Results So Far ...

People are always curious about the results of others in this business. I am not shy so I thought I would share mine. I don't think they are amazing so please don't take any of this as bragging. In reailty, I simply don't think I am overly good at marketing porn!

First of all, the only site I run is my blog. It has been up since the end of August. So I've been in business 2 1/2 months. The focus of the blog is on the MILF, mature, housewife and single woman niches. These are the types of porn I like. I've decided that I will commit to the blog for 1 year, after which, I will evaluate it's success and at that point decided whether to continue or not.

I rely on trades, directory listings and mostly Google traffic to get people to my site. I have not yet built any freesites or the like. That will come soon. I do write a blog entry EVERYDAY without fail though I usually write them 2 days a week and post date them. I don't splog. I write a real entry that always features a gallery of some sort along with my ramblings. I spend about 5 hours a week writing the blog and then about the same amount of time upgrading, researching. getting trades, etc.

So, traffic ... I've had over 15,000 unique visitors of which 6,500 have come through this month. Most days now I get 400-500 people. 95% of the searches I get come from Google. My Alexa ranking started at 2 million+ but I am now down to close to 500,000. It took 2 months to go from PR 0 to PR 1 for whatever that is worth.

The search engine traffic in a blog is as good as they say. I featured a single woman site with her name liberally sprinkled in the text. Next thing you know I ranked high in Google for her name -- it was actually a slight misspelling -- and then I got two sign ups. When I've done galleries and freesites before I just never saw a good volume of targeted SE traffic. Sure I would get Google traffic but often with a freesite but it would take months to occur. With a blog you write about say a pornstar one day and a couple of days later you get SE traffic using those search terms. I think that is because with daily updates to my site, Google is visiting me about 18-20 times a day.

Having said that some of the traffic appears next to impossible to convert. There are two step-sisters "Rhylee and Rhyse Richardson" who are new to the business. Despite good SE ranking and mounds of traffic, I did not get a single sale from the three blog entries I made featuring them. I think that this may be a case of trying to make a sale of something [someone?] that is too popular.

Now the money, I've made 6 sales of which 1 has been PPS (Pay Per Signup) and 5 have been RevShare (Revenue Sharing). I prefer RevShare because I think over the longterm you can do better. The total revenue is just over $142 but that does not include about 2 bucks in PPC (Pay Per Click). Three of my sales have come from single women sites. These are what you might consider a little bit off the "beaten track" of the Internet.

I've been on and off doing some porn sites in the last couple of years but this is my first attempt where I've put in some real effort. I am hoping that the growth of the site continues to be exponential and not linear. If so, I might make some money in a while. I hope!

Those are my efforts. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them!

Regards,

---art

P.S. Yet, another thought -- about RevShare. I personally knew a woman who was a porn chat host. She had a few regular customers who would come to her site. One guy, a single farmer from the mid-west would spend $500 a month on time with her. It went on for months and months. I know it sounds amazing but it is true. Well, imagine the RevShare from that commission alone vs. what you would get with PPS. I want a BIG FISH like that!

Hi Art,

Hope you don't mind but I moved your post down here to the blogging section. I just thought there may be more members like me who rarely venture into General Business or the other forums.

From my experience I would say that you are doing about average. There are paysites that I would have thought would do very well on my blogs that just don't. I haven't been able to come up with any logical reason for it.

As far as traffic, I would guess that you should be in the neighborhood of about 1k uniques per day at around the 6 month mark. From there it's hard to say. I've got one blog that's been stuck around that number for a long time now. I don't mind too much as it consistantly makes around $500 a month. Not going to mess with it as long as it keeps doing ok.

I've got others that zoomed past that to around 4k uniques in a year.

Good luck

thanks for sharing your experience like that. I'm pretty new to blogging. I started with a BBW blog about 10 months ago.. made some posts, the traffic was poor, and then ignored it for a couple months. then i noticed i started making some sales from it and i look at my stats and it was making 500 uniques a day. I had no idea it would do that on its own. So i realized I needed to build more blogs. Now I am working on about 10 blogs. I don't splog very much either, but I'm considering getting into it a bit more.

Really walrus, those numbers are normal with a blog? 15,000 visitors and 6 signups sounds exceptional to me. Maybe not exceptional but better than a run of the mill site.

Maybe it is beginner's luck. All I know is that with the effort setting this thing up and getting it working just the way I wanted, I sometimes feel like I'd be better off flipping burgers!

I've made sales with NaughtyAmerica, TastyDollars, TrafficCashGold and Two Single Women Sites (RonisParadise - 1 sale and RacquelDevonshire - 2 sales).

TrafficCashGold is PPS (Pay Per Sale) only, none-the-less, I've always like their sites (PleaseBangMyWife and MILFsInHeat). If I personally could choose one MILF site to join it would be NaughtyAmerica (with DiaryOfAMILF and SeducedByACougar to name two). Now, the women on the NaughtyAmerica sites are MILF Pornstars but for overall value and sheer number of currently updated MILF and MILF related sites, you can't beat NaughtyAmerica.

The experience I've had with my blogs (the ones that are hand written and nurtured), is that the blogs themselves are either a hit or a complete miss. I rarely see any middle ground.

Of my blogs that "hit" the average conversion ratio is 1:275 with the best being a little under 1:200 and the worst 1:320.

On the "misses" my best is 1:1500. I have absolutely nothing that consistantly hits a middle ground between the extremes.

In delving into the world of automated RSS splogs, I've had almost no success even though those same feeds do extremely well as pages on XXX Blog Maniac and other blogs.
